EPL coming to Sydney.....Get lost!

England's 20 Premier League clubs are planning a radical change that would see each team playing an extra match a season in a foreign city.

Under the proposal, from the 2010-11 season in one weekend in January there would be an extra 'international round' with 10 matches played abroad in cities such as Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Sydney, Johannesburg, Dubai and Beijing.

Oh dear. You can imagine Manchester United v Chelsea
drawing a huge crowd in any city listed above. But what about Bolton v Sunderland, or West Ham v Middlesboro, or Derby v Wigan the list goes on.

In Sydney I'm sure it would be Everton v Blackburn, Cahill v Emerton.

In the middle of our finals series. I say no.

I don't want to see Tim Cahil and his Everton mates come and play one game in the middle of the Australian A-League season.

I think it will assist to destroy the local leagues of Asia and Australia.

First they get all the players from Australia and the World purely because they have the most money. Now they want to stuff up the leagues that are actually breeding grounds for their "so-called" quality product.

I don't want to see Everton, West Ham, Middlesboro or any other English team with a token Aussie in the ranks.

Queensland Roar v Sydney FC. Who good would that game look if Manchester United were playing Everton in Sydney on the same weekend.

Altogether now. Sod off England!

the only happy people are the accountants ...

the accountants for the epl ...

love to see what the hosting FAs think ... its one thing to bring in the galaxy for a friendly, but for two mid or lower table english teams to come into sydney FCs territory ... or the victory`s territory during our season ...

uggh.

the english fans aren`t happy either. an extra round of games, teams chosen at random with seeded teams to avoid top teams versus top teams - this will create a sense of luck that doesn`t exist at present. just picture it `we almost got relegated, but luckily we got to play derby in the bonus round overseas while relegated united got stuck playing liverpool.`

the premier league is a circus - an entertaining one, but still, a circus.
